Great Dame is an excellent and captivating example of fashion portraiture. Although many comments have been ascribed to this work by many viewers, such as "stunning, gorgeous, perfect, pretty," and "lovely," the strongest two-word description for it has to be saltry glamour. This observer also agrees with these previous comments too, as much planning went into this photo, and the model did well to show a close intimacy with the camera, as her vain pose and seductive gaze show. The color & style of her hair along with the attire chosen do suggest a classic Marilyn Monroe aire. Despite a softly matching background to the color of her corset, the same circumstance allows her skin to contrast against it nicely and causes the black features of her attire to be as outstanding and as well-presented as her hands do for her shapely form. For sure, even the curves of this model provide a bold geometrical conflict with the straight vertical blue bars of the background: a plus from an ordinary structureless one. "Great Dame" is thus a VERY appropriate title for this considerably glamorous image. Add a generously bejeweled necklace/rings (amethyst?), and "regal" would be as fitting also. The model is composed to perfection by the photographer in both lighting & form; she herself displays a breathtaking and divine snapshot performance to us. Subjectively, I have included this piece in my "faves" collection, but I would further be confident from an objective perspective in saying that it is top-notch and deserving of praise and very high positive ratings.
