Here is our last tintype from the first day of shooting. As you'll notice, the light is becoming darker and my face is more shadowed. There are other minor imperfections, such as spots, and it is not a perfect black and white. These things are sometimes "improved" upon with editing, as seen here: [link]

Personally, I think the imperfections add character, which is why I post the originals as my featured deviations. What do you think?

I love this one over the edit as well, the edited one is sharper and lighter, but doesn't match the mood at all.

I like this one the best of the alternative techniques you did, I didn't think such an old rig could get the depth of field to blur the sky behind the fence, but it works perfectly, I could just walk into it!!

Yes, wet plates always have a rather shallow depth of field.

i prefer this one. the other loose too details on the dress and on your face. and this colors tastes better than the perfect black and white on such photo.
